Luna's Emboli Detection and Classification
(EDAC™) Quantifier blood circuit monitor
Technologies at Luna Innovations
Ultrasonic Sensing - EDAC™
The EDAC™ QUANTIFIER (Emboli Detection and Classification) blood circuit monitor uses advanced ultrasound technology to non-invasively count and classify gaseous emboli in the extracorporeal bypass circuit. Employing highly sophisticated algorithms, the EDAC™ QUANTIFIER device simultaneously monitors up to three locations, detects individual gaseous emboli at rates up to at least 1,000 per second, identifies gaseous emboli from 10 microns in diameter to up to 12.7mm (1/2") in diameter and instantly reports relevant data to the user. Results are displayed on-screen for real-time feedback to immediately adjust tubing and pumps as needed.
- Reliable Results
- Simple User Interface
- Quantitative Testing
- Non-invasive Monitoring
Product Features:
The EDAC™ QUANTIFIER system is a real-time, PC-based system that quantifies and classifies the gaseous emboli rates in extracorporeal bypass circuits.
- Offers three simultaneous channels
- Provides researchers with gaseous emboli count rates up to at least 1,000 per second
- Identifies gaseous emboli from 10 microns in diameter to up to 12.7 mm (1/2") in diameter
- Estimates the size distribution of a population of gaseous emboli
- Presents reliable count measurements from a flow rate of 0.2L/minute to 6.0L/minute
- Exports data for analysis and record retention
Data Provided:
- A map of gaseous emboli tracks every 0.8 seconds
- The total gaseous emboli counts detected during the length of the procedure
- A four-minute history of the number of gaseous emboli per second
- The size distribution estimates of gaseous emboli
- The embolic load estimation per time interval
